CCA IT Expo 11-11-08
The 2nd Annual Information Technology Career Expo was held Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Mid America Center in Council Bluffs. Over 35 area businesses, colleges and southwest Iowa high schools joined together as high school students discovered, explored and learned about careers in the field of information technology.
Business presenters shared about their company, career path, education and challenged students to consider their future career choices in Information Technology. Colleges and universities joined businesses and presented educational choices and options as students charted a course for their future career. Google, Geek Squad, CyaNet Sports and DARMEDIA were among the businesses presenting this year.
Special thanks to all the businesses that helped make this pilot IT Expo a huge success!

Parent Testimonial
My son, Tucker, & I had a great time at this year's IT Expo! Things were quick-paced, engaging, and very interesting. For the short time I visited, I witnessed the kids learning while having fun… the best type of education! Every kid I spoke with was enjoying the IT Expo, and they even admitted to learning a few new things. I know they loved the schwag!
It's not easy to engage teenagers, but the speakers & Mr. Brown were holding the kids' attention, and kept things moving briskly. This was an expo that was well organized, informative, and dead-on for the target audience; definitely better ran than many professional IT expos I've experienced.
I would recommend this event to anyone whose child may be interested in the IT field. - Rick Schepler of Sidney, IA
