STUDENT CAREER EXPO - COMPETITION DETAILS

There are TWO COMPETITIONS at this year's Student Career Expo on December 1 & 2, 2009

RESUME/MOCK JOB INTERVIEW

This is an individual student competition that is available to high school students. Competition participants must be registered to attend the Expo by Friday, November 13, 2009.

Students can apply for a job of their choosing in one of the following related career fields: Information Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Health Science and Bio Science.

They need to declare in their resume objective what job and position they are applying for.

Students will need to email their PDF resumes to resumes@studentcareerconnection.org by Friday, November 13, 2009.

The resumes will be reviewed by participating business partners and the top 40 resumes will be determined. These 40 students will be notified and scheduled for a job interview time slot during the Expo.

Information Technology and Advanced Manufacturing interviews will be on Tuesday, December 1.

Health Science and Bio Science interviews will be Wednesday, December 2.

Selected business partners will interview the students and four winning students will be awarded a $100 gift card each to Best Buy in Council Bluffs at the end of the Expo.

There will be one winner in each of the following career fields: Information Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Health Science and Bio Science.

Each student interview will be a maximum of 10 minutes. Students will be judged by a panel of business partners on their resume, personal presentation and how well they answer questions during the interview.
