Google celebrated the grand opening of it's $600 million data center in Council Bluffs on Tuesday, May 19, 2009. This celebration was not only great for Google but for Council Bluffs and the State of Iowa. To have an international business establish a presence in Iowa will be great for our economy and future workforce.

The following comments are from students who attended the Council Bluffs College and Career Days that was held at both the Henry Doorly Zoo and the University of Nebraska at Omaha on March 25 and 26, 2009.

The following job shadows are available to students who attended the IT Expo on November 11, 2008. Job Shadow availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis. All job shadows will be in groups ranging from 6 to 12 students. Please review the following opportunities and select your top three choices.

Special thanks to Lewis Central High School for programming and hosting their 2nd Annual Engineering Day. Student Career Connection provided registration and evaluation services. There were 55 students that submitted evaluations.

On Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26, sophomore students from Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln High Schools will have the opportunity to discover, explore and learn about area college and career opportunities. This event is part of the career planning process being implemented by the Council Bluffs Community School District to better prepare students for their future.
